At our manufacturing unit, we honor the rich legacy of traditional Indian block printing. Each piece is a testament to skilled craftsmanship and meticulous detail. Here’s a step-by-step guide to our process:
The process starts with creating a design, often inspired by traditional motifs or contemporary patterns. This design is transferred onto wooden blocks by skilled artisans.
Expert craftsmen meticulously carve the design into teak wood blocks, ensuring intricate details are preserved. Each color in the pattern requires a separate block.
The fabric is washed to remove impurities and stretched tightly on a printing table for stability.
Pigment colors are mixed with binders and thickeners to achieve vibrant and long-lasting hues. These colors are poured into trays for easy access.
The artisan dips the block into the pigment color, ensuring an even coating. The block is firmly stamped onto the fabric with precise pressure to ensure consistent impressions.
The fabric is washed again to remove excess pigment and treated to enhance softness and durability.
Printed fabrics are left to dry naturally, allowing the pigment to bond effectively with the fibers.
After completing all these steps, the printed fabric is ready to be transformed into the final products. In addition to traditional block printing, we also specialize in screen printing, offering versatile designs with intricate details to meet diverse creative needs.
